Back in 1992 almost everything related to hip hop seemed so different from today and at the centre of that universe was Dr. Dre. For 'Nuthin' But A G Thang' he waxes lyrical with a young up 'n' coming rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg and from the very get-go you had an inkling he was destined for greatness. The rap duo's clever wordplay is underpinned by an infectious Leon Haywood loop that would go on to represent the G-Funk sound. On the flip, the Johnny 'Guitar' Watson loop sets the menacing tone for local superhero The Lady Of Rage as she lays it down on 'Afro Puffs' with some locomotive powered raps and in doing so solidifies her position at the rap summit.
